🌿 About the creations
Are all the pieces handmade?
Yes. Each piece is handmade in my workshop in Guadeloupe.
I don't work on an assembly line or in mass production. All my creations are handcrafted with care.
Even when a model is remade, each piece remains unique : the fabric will never be cut in the same place, the finishes may vary, and I want to preserve this singular character.
Will I receive the exact model in the photo?
Not always. Some pieces are truly unique and will never be remade.
But for logistical reasons, I am making available certain models already sold, which I can recreate in the same fabric and the same spirit , while keeping their unique character (different cut, adjusted finishes, revised details).
🧵 Fabric placement intentionally varies from piece to piece. This is not a flaw, but an artistic endeavor.

✨ Materials & maintenance
How do you choose your materials?
I select all my materials with care: fabrics gleaned during my travels, finishes chosen from local or specialist suppliers.
Even when I buy from reputable suppliers, I always look for the piece that has something different —a rare detail, a rarely seen finish—to stay true to the world of Essie Dh: authentic, unique, far from the standards of mass production .
What fabrics do you use?
I mainly use 100% cotton fabrics, chosen for their texture, strength and comfort.
Cotton is a material:

perfectly suited to tropical climates.
What materials do you use for your jewelry?
I favor hypoallergenic and durable materials:

silver-colored stainless steel,

gold-plated stainless steel (14 or 18 carats),

zinc cork,
-
resin.
Each piece of jewelry is carefully varnished with a specific protective varnish to extend its lifespan, even in humid climates.
Are there any special precautions to take in Guadeloupe? (sargassum)
Yes. Sargassum seaweed in the Caribbean releases a corrosive gas into the air, which can damage sensitive metals like brass or gold plating—even when it's not in contact with water.
To prevent this:

I can provide cleaning wipes on request ,

and I remain available to analyze a part after purchase if necessary, in order to offer a suitable solution.
How to maintain your creations?
🧵 Textile and costume jewelry

Avoid direct contact with water (especially salt water) and perfume.

Store them in a cloth bag , a box away from light , or an airtight pouch if you live in a humid climate.

Clean them gently with a soft, dry cloth , or with a microfiber cloth provided for this purpose (available on request when ordering).

Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight or in a bathroom.
👜 Bananas, headbands, textile accessories

Hand wash or machine wash on delicate cycle, cold.

Do not use a tumble dryer.

Gentle ironing only on cotton parts (do not iron zips or padded parts).
🛍️ Orders & customization
Do you offer custom pieces?
Yes, subject to availability. If you have a specific request (design, color, fabric, size, etc.), you can contact me via Instagram or the contact form.
Each customization is discussed on a case-by-case basis: I only reproduce projects aligned with the spirit of the brand.
Can I choose my fabric or charms/pendants?
Sometimes yes, depending on available stock. I can offer you a personalized selection if you have a specific request.
Some creations are made from unique fabrics or old charms, therefore cannot be reproduced identically.
And for children?
Some creations are very suitable for children (mini bananas, headbands, certain jewelry).
If you want to be sure, write to me before ordering, I will guide you according to age and intended use.
🚚 Delivery & collection
Where are orders shipped from?
All orders are prepared and shipped from my workshop in Guadeloupe.
However, for certain destinations such as mainland France or Canada , it is sometimes possible to ship from the country , via my contacts there.
📝 Email me before ordering if you'd like to know if local shipping is available — this may reduce shipping times or costs.

What are the delivery times?

Products in stock : shipped within 2 to 4 working days.

Products to be created : allow 5 to 15 working days for manufacturing before shipping.
⚠️ For technical reasons, some products are displayed as “in stock” on the site to allow ordering, but are actually made to order .

Are there any customs fees?

France & DOM-TOM : no, because these are shipments from France to France

Outside France & Overseas Territories (e.g. Canada) :
Any customs duties and taxes are the responsibility of the customer , and may be applied upon arrival according to local legislation.
These charges are not included in the shipping charges shown on the site.
Do you offer workshop pickup?
Yes, by appointment only.
You can choose "Workshop Pickup" at checkout. I'll then contact you to arrange a time slot.
📦 Lost packages & incorrect address
I made a mistake in my delivery address. What should I do?
If your order has not yet been shipped, I can correct the address without any problem.
If the package has already been handed over to the carrier:

no refund can be made,

You will be responsible for the reshipping costs if the package is returned to me.
Please check your address carefully before confirming your order.
My package is marked "delivered" but I haven't received it. What should I do?
All shipments are made with tracking number.
If the tracking indicates that the package was delivered to the address provided , the order is considered fulfilled.
I cannot be held responsible in the event of:

mailbox theft,
-
handing over to a third party,
-
or error in the address provided by the customer.
You can contact me to open a claim with the carrier, but no refund or resend will be possible if delivery is confirmed .
What if the package is actually lost in transit?
If the tracking remains blocked or indicates a proven incident before delivery, I open an investigation with the carrier.
A solution will be offered to you depending on the result: refund, replacement or credit , as the case may be.
🔁 Returns & Exchanges
Can I return an item if I change my mind?
In accordance with Article L.221-18 of the French Consumer Code, customers based in France have a 14-day right of withdrawal from receipt of the package.
⚠️ This right does not apply to items made to order , personalized , or made according to customer specifications (article L.221-28).
Most Essie Dh creations fall into this category.
➡️ Returns are therefore not accepted , except in exceptional cases.
Please read the descriptions carefully before ordering, and contact me if you have any doubts.
What if the item has a defect?
Each piece is carefully checked before shipping.
If you notice an obvious defect upon receipt , contact me immediately after opening the package , with:

a clear photo of the part concerned,

a brief description of the problem.
I will offer you a suitable solution: repair, replacement or credit depending on the case.
